Grasshopper dying

I have a 23hp kohler on my52" grasshopper & after about 30 min the engine will start spuddering & eventually stop. Any suggestions? I need help. Thanks

Sounds like it could be an issue with the coil. Check the resistance as per the manual.

I would say also it could be the coil. The heat of the engine start affecting it.

The other thing it could be is your fuel lines near the engine. The heat might be making the colasp inward and restricting the fuel flow.

Run the machine again and check if it is a fuel or spark problem when it quits again.

I had same problem and changed a bunch of thing but found out my problem was the tube that sucks the gas inside the gas tank was almost touching the bottom of the tank and was causing the trash in the bottom of the tank to stop the amount of gas flow. I cut an inch off it and attached it and had no more problems. There will always be a little trash in the bottom so I think it was stupid to make the pipe that long. I lost a lot of time & money trying to find out why it would run and then shudder or just quit. Wait a while and crank right away and start mowering and there goes again. Hope this fixes your problem
