Hey y’all. So the last time I used my mower everything was working fine. Today I went to fire her up and the blades will not cut. The PTO turns on and the belt spins but the blades are not turning. Could it be that the mowing belt is too loose and isn’t applying enough pressure on the pulleys? I hope it isn’t anything serious. Your comments are appreciated.

I'm no Grasshopper expert but I thought the 725D's had a shaft drive mower.

I am going off memory so just look and see if I am right. PTO shaft goes to a gearbox. On the gearbox is a pulley that should have either or both a key and set screws. Check to see if the key is sheared or set screws are loose or not on a flat part of the shaft.
