The fiberglass/plastic coupler discs that connect the engine to the hydros failed for the first time after 13 years. Now they only last a few weeks. Is this common? Are there more robust discs available?

Are you sure that there is not some binding or misalignment of some sort going on that is knocking them out?
Thanks for the feedback. Is there any special tool or process for the alignment? When I installed the last set of discs I loosened the engine mounting bolts and tried to align as necessary. I have since bought another set and the dealer suggested a new shaft in case it was damaged or tweeked. I plan to install next week when the shaft arrives.
