My Grasshopper 718d switch sometimes won't work. When trying to start it, the starter will just click one time, won't do anything or may turn over and start. Now the switch won't seem to work at all. You can jump between the posts on the solinoid(sp?) and that's all it will do. Is this a bad switch, solinoid, starter or what?? Any help appreciated.

did you check all your connections to make sure they are clean and tight?battery connections got a clean good tight connect,are the ground wires clean ,did you check the wires going to the switch?sometimes they can get loose and or corroded.you can take the housing off the consol to check this.My Yanmar tractor did the same as what you describe and it turned out the battery posts as well as the cables just needed a good cleaning and retighten.keep us updated...russ
