I have the grass catcher on my JD and whenever I want to catch leaves with it, the leaves shoot out the right side of the deck. Some collect in the bags, but mostly I seem to be moving leaves from one side of the yard to the other. Does anyone know what causes this?

Thank you

At what height are you mowing and what type of blades do you have?

My new JD D130 42" deck, set at 2.5", twin B&S, with standard bagging attachment (when my 70 plus trees on 1 acre of grass are not shedding), Cyclone Rake attached in fall (now). Installed high-lift blades within the first 30 days of purchase in an attempt to increase the pickup performance of the mower but either way most debris shoot out the right side of the deck. JD suggest that I level the mower deck and drop the front of the deck down 1/8" to 1/4'. Unit has less than 60 hours and I will try their suggestion but will little faith that it will change the behavior of what appears to be a defective design of the deck. Previously used a Scott's 42" deck with the 17.5 hp Kohler engine worked better until I lost the transmission and it was not cost effective to repair.

Sorely disappointed in the performance of this "proudly made in America" machine and the limited customer support provided when I brought this to the attention of Deere. Dealer suggested I purchase the 42" Husqvarna instead of the Deer and I should have listened. Buyers remorse -absolutely; reason - waste of time and gasoline due to the poor performance of the JD D130.

I have a bagger, and have experienced that problem, but it was a "plugged chute" to the bags?when picking up leaves and not dumping the load in time. Unplugged the chute and everything is fine.
