Rebuilding EZR 1648 Ariens Deck Spindles....When I took it apart no zerks and open to dust etc. What kind of bearings does Ariens recommend for their spindles sealed or non sealed? Who manufacturers the best quality bearings for this application. Concerned I'll end up with import junk?

Thank you

A lot of spindles use sealed bearings. If you can remove the bearings, you can get the number printed usually on the outer race. Your local brg supplier can get it for you at a fraction of what you might pay from the OEM.
For my commercial accounts, when installing these bearings I remove the inner dust cap of each brg. Then drill and tap a 1/4 X 28 in the spindle housing and install a grease zerk. They last a lot longer provided they are maintained.
