I will be buying the Honda HRX217VKA, the 2019 version with the GVC200 engine. So far, the best price I have gotten is $589, No tax and free shipping.
Does that sound like a good deal or should I continue to shop around ?:licking:

i personally would choose between two Honda mowers, HRX217HYA & HRC216HXA, they both have roto-stop blade brake clutch system, engine will continue to run when letting go of handles & blades will stop so you can empty bag, move kids toys, etc. i paid $800 in 1990 for Masters Series HR215SXA has same options as the two i have listed, engine is smaller GXV140. our son is in process of rebuilding engine after 29.5 years of mowing. expensive yes, not always but most times you get what you pay for.

I do not want roto-stop blade, again do you think that this is a good deal?

Not sure your reasons, but HR215SXA here as well, just reringed the engine as well. 30+ years of use, and blake brake friction material measure very close to new, and too simple a device to have much fail. Myself, I'd never buy another mower without a blade clutch ever again . . .

You might want to rethink that . . .

Yes. It is a good price. I got mine right when it came out. It was $629 from home depot. After a month or so, they dropped to $599

Sorry, but I do not have to rethink that. I have NO USE, nor do I want a Mower with a blade clutch so I can stop the blade from turning. My yard is all grass with no toys or junk in it . When I cut the grass and have
to stop for some reason, I just have to pull the cord again to restart it. A 4 year old could do it, one pull with absolutely no strength needed! My original question to you was if the price was a good one, which you
never answered! Hope you get another 30 years out of yours.

Thanks trekgod3, finally, someone actually gave me a direct answer to my question.

I do not like either one of your choices. I never bag, only mulch, and have no kids toys in my yard. I just wanted your opinion on the price that I stated for the HRX217VKA with the new GVC200 engine.
