I have a question. Has anyone used a hedge trimmer to trim grass? My problem is a 500 foot ditch with a slope that varies from 30 to 70 degrees with the greatest depth of 10 feet. I currently use a Stihl string trimmer to take care of the grass problem. I am considering buying a Stihl hedge trimmer which gives me more length than a string trimmer, this idea actually came from a Stihl equipment owner as a consideration

Have him bring it over and give it a try.

Wouldn't be any different than using a sickle mower to mow grass for hay.

Suggest trying a pole saw, but use hedge trimmer in place of the saw. .

I had this in mind when I posted earlier. Just use it like a sickle mower to mower the grass and weeds down.

Have you looked into a FlyMo. May sound silly, but they work where a wheeled mower can’t. Googling it is easier than me trying to explain.
