I've heard a 1000 different ways to do this
I've recently over seeded my small side lawn about 2500 Sq ft, using the following steps:
1. Dethatch
2. Mowed and bagged down to about 1.5 in
3. Ran dethatcher again
4. Core aerated in 4 passes
5. broadcasted seed in broadcast spreader
6. Rolled with a half full lawn roller
7. spread Starter fertilizer
I used a Scott's kentucky blue mix
The next area I must do is a 4500 square foot area
Simply put what is the absolutely best and most effective method of over seeding? I'm going to splurge on this area and use Some very expensive Seed so it has to work .
Should I Dethatch, mow low, aerate, top dress, rake lightly then roll?
Or should I dethatch, mow low, aerate, slice seed then roll?
The top dressing would cost more than the slice seeder rental, I own the dethatcher and aerator
Or are neither of these optimal?
I am seeking maximum germination.
