Hi, on one of my tree lines I have a ant colony, in a couple different spots, I would like to get rid of them so i can get the grass to grow back in that area. Any tips? The are Black ants.

Hi Joe,

I just read about a formula that is worth a try. 1 gal water, 1.5 oz orange oil, 3 oz dawn dish soap. Pour on ant hill, let soak in. Do not let the soap foam up just mix it in.

Saw this in a home improvement magazine and have a couple mounds I want to try it on myself.

Hope it helps!

Nic

Have you tried Amdro. It's a bait type product.

Go to any hardware store. They will have a supply of various ant getridders.

I haven't tried any, but figured I'd ask and see what brand/type you guys would recommend.

We have the FIRE ANTS down here and the only thing that I found that still works is Ortho's fire ant killer. The others just make them move over a few feet.
