I had an issue last year with my Honda HRX2173VKA mower becoming very difficult to start. I decided to try cleaning the carburetor so I removed the main 2 bolts from the air filter and, unfortunately, the carb and attached gaskets came free without me being able to see exactly which ones went exactly where. I have a parts diagram that I found online that shows an exploded diagram of the carb and gaskets but it is hard to tell which gasket is which. I have 3 gaskets and 2 are very similar but one has what looks like air guide impressions on it and the other one seems to be a different material. The 2 main bolt holes match up for all of them but 2 gaskets have a small hole in them that does not seem to match each other. The engine/carb is for the MAGA-206xxxx series and the carb does not have a drain hole in the bottom. If someone has any specifics or else a good picture on which gasket goes and could post it or tell me where to find it I would appreciate the help.
tks this is the picture that I was looking at when I was trying to put it back on (and could not find the link to include in the post). The problem that I am having is that I can't tell for sure where parts 14 and 11 go. I think that 12 is the gasket that is already on the carb because of the shape but the diagram shows it to the left of part 11. It is possible that 14 goes between 18 and the carb assembly.
I may be making this more complicated than it really is. I will give it another try and post the (hopefully happy) result.
Just a followup on this. My first attempt at putting the carb back on did not work (leaking fuel) so I went back to youtube and found a video that showed the correct order and placement of the gaskets. I followed that and it worked right away. The gasket section was exactly what I needed to see and is at about the 2 minute mark in this video (Lawn Mower Engine Carburetor Assembly Replacement Honda Small Engine Repair (Part #16100-Z0L-864)). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kILLqpt7h4o
The indentations did not make sense to me because I thought that two of the gaskets were supposed to be on the engine side and not the air filter side so I did not try to match them up there. Once I saw them put on the air filter side in the video it made sense. The indentations look close to but not exactly like those on the engine side.
