Help me "Oh Wise Ones". I'm trying to replace gas tank on a Craftsman tiller model 917.295553. Engine is 5hp B&S model 13502-0237-01. Showing tank part number 495391 or 694315 is discontinued. Is there another alternative?

All i could find are the tank numbers... but also i looked on ebay and they dont give a part number, but it looks alot like yours. Looks clean on the inside....

What's wrong with yours? Leaking and rusty?

Full of rust. I think that can be resolved, however, the secondary sump chamber is paper thin and rusted through.

And that was a critical part. Like you said, time for a replacement. Good luck with it sir.

Thanks for reply slomo. I have a call in to a local shop where I've bought used parts before.

Your tank looks like it was parked on the bottom of the ocean. Must of been sitting outside in the rain for a few decades.

I see they went NLA since April 2019 when I got the last one for my shop stock. They were hard to sell at $128.15. I reckon I will be killing off several tillers and log splitters the next few years when the last one I got get sold.

I'm working on this tiller for a neighbor (true story). The machine is really in good shape except for the tank. I can't believe part has gone missing. There's one on bBay that's in the bidding process. I'll check with owner and see if he would rather go new if you still have that one in inventory. Thanks StarTech
