Gas leak

Have a simplicity cornet. It dosnt leak when it's running but if the air filter is off and you shut the engine off a few seconds later the air filter intake fills up with about a 16th of an inch of gas then it starts leaking out If the intake. I know if I put a fuel shut off on the line it will help but I don't want a temporary fix. I got someone buying it in a couple days so I need to fix it. Thanks for your help!!!

Your problem is a bad float needle. The fixes to replace the needle after you have disassembled and cleaned the carb.
