My elderly mother-in-law's mower has gotten so much gas in the motor that it has stopped running. I think she is flooding it, she had it boost it the second time. Is there a problem with the motor or operator? I drained the oil/gas mix out and put in new oil and it starts and runs fine, no problems until the next time. Thanks

Probably carb issue. isn't stopping the gas flow from the tank. check float/ inlet needle
I drained the oil/ gas out of the motor yesterday,let it drain over night, put in new oil. It would not turn over one time. If I turned it over by hand to get it by compression, it would turn til it came up to compression. I took the spark plug out, it is gas soaked, I clean it up, turn over the engine and gas & oil come out the spark plug hole. Put the plug back in fire, it up, burn the oil out of the muffler and she mows her lawn with no problems. I don't think the float is stuck, I'll have to check the oil level in a day or two. Thanks
The float probably isn't stuck but most likely it isn't sealing off the flow of fuel completely, either, and while you are using the mower there is no problem but only when it sits for days or weeks between uses does the slow leakage of fuel past the needle cause a problem. Ethanol in the gasoline is causing many problems for small engines and this is just one of them.
I had almost the same problem, I replaced the needle valve and cleaned the carb, then I added a manual fuel shut off valve. This way when your done turn the fuel off and let the mower die then no fuel will be in the carb
