Fuel Venting

Cheetah with Kawasaki FX921 - Would like to know if the fuel venting canisters can be deleted and then just use a venting fuel tank cap. My Tiger Cub fuel tank is vented thru the cap. Is the venting system on the Cheetah used just for environmental purposes? Thanks in advance for any answers.

The canisters are like the old coffee can systems found on cars from the 70's so the purpose is to collect gas vapor and then extract it to be burned at a later time. But unless you are having venting issues there is no reason to fix what isn't broken.
