i have just rebuilt my carb on a cub cadet series 2000 hds 2145 with a cummins onan engine. the engine surges when in full throttle. is the fuel pump dirty and can it be cleaned?
A high speed no load surge normally means that the idle circuit in the carb is dirty. Should smooth out if you engage the deck. If true then you need to reclean the carb.
Depends on the pump. Some are throw aways and some have screws. Screw type is rebuildable however the pump shouldn't be very costly. Just checked, that must be one fancy pump. 90.00 +? Don't think so.
