Sounds like you flooded it from trying to start it. I'd clean the carb and rebuild it with overhaul kit.

Had it run recently? If not the float in your carb could be stuck in the down position.

No float in them. Howver, same principle- metering diaphragm is stiff from ethanol deterioration, holding needle open so fuel bypasses and floods machine out. As said before, rebuild the carb.

Works for me! I'm far from an expert on trimmers. I heartily agree on the ethanol though. Bad mojo.

I'm selling a bunch of VP Racing's SEF fuel for part time users, eliminates that issue and storage problems. For day to day use I recommend Startron, quality mix and (ideally ethanol free) premium gas.

yes, terry it did at first. now it squirts fuel from muffler when cold but does eventually start and run fine?

Sounds like it needs more cleaning or new carb. Maybe the carb adjustment is off too.

If theres no adjustment on the carb then those are chokeless type that are not rebuildable. If it were me I find out to see if Echo used different model carb that has the H, L, and Idle screws on it. I have 2 FS46 that have the chokeless carb and replacing both with different model carb after trying to rebuild one with no luck.

I,ve seriously considered that, also. I didn't know this carb was not rebuildable. its a RB-K75. if that's the case I will definetly replaced the carb and then hit it with a hammer!!!

I know I;ve done exactly that more than once. if these carbs can't be rebuilt why are there lots of rebuild kits on the market?

I thought of something that might answer my own question. you can buy I rebuild kit for my carb. problem is, there is no way to replace the valve seat.

Depends on the carb failure. If you just had bad diaphragms the kit would fix it fine.

try a compression test that's an older trimmer, if its below 100psi, you might need a ring and seals, when you take the carb off shine a flashlight in the throat and look for scratches, same with the muffler side

hi, there is a screw. but taking the screw out allows acess to the needle valve. the needle valve seat is not serviceable.
