Hello all,

New to the site and look forward being here.
Moving on with the revamping a G2000 my father passed on to me, it seems that the Fuel and Temp gauges dont function and want to find out where I may find some info here on trouble shooting, I pulled the (top)temp sensor and get 34 ohms from bat neg to sensor pin, and 1meg ohm from that pin to bottom ground side of sensor. not sure if thats the right sensor, theres on the side near the starter also, I haven't looked into the fuel circuit yet. just thought I would post this and find out what im in for!

Cheers
Kendall

Don't know your machine, but auto sensors put out a resistance curve that can be checked in a pan of water by heating and plotting with your VOM. Grounds are important. There are many sensors out their but they will not necessarily work with your guage. If lost look at the sensor thread and then your auto parts store for a new sensor and guage. I have found JC Whitney is a good source, but the thread thing can bite you. Assuming 12 V.

Thanks motoman, I had pulled the sensor and grounded it and put a lighter under it and got a ohm reading change, thinking that its ok. i wouldn't think its the gauge since the fuel gauge does not work as well! I'm getting 12v on the back of both gauges too.

Look at the schematic for a common ground or fuse. Also I don't know your machine but thought I'd mention many of the kits have thread adapters , perhaps up and down a size, even metric / SAE.
