I bought it for $40.
Needs some TLC.
It has been stored for 2-3 years.
Pull string is broken.
I will work on it this week.
Anything I should do first before starting?
I will post a pic later.

Re: Found a used Honda Harmony 215

Got a chance to work on it today.
The pull start string is about to break.
So I bought a $4 generic string from Home Depot and got that fixed.
Last night, I put a little gas and put 1oz of marvel mystery oil in the tank and put the choke on and started it to fill up the carb.
Let the carb soaked overnight.
Drained the carb and tank and put fresh fuel today.
Got it started. Lots of smoke from the marvel oil. Then it cleared up. Stopped the engine.
One pull, it started right up. Now it starts with just one pull.

The self propel feature does not work. I cannot pull it backward. The rear wheels are locked up.
I found some pdf files here how to adjust the drive clutch and shift cable.
I will try to work on it tomorrow.

It cleaned up really good.

How do I edit the title? I need to correct the Honda spelling. My keyboard has a bad "D" key.

Welcome, nice find. That baby cleaned up nicely.

I got my Honda FG-100 Mini-tiller from a neighbor that was throwing it out. I took it, checked compression=good, had strong spark.. But stored in his shed maybe 10 years. Carb was shot & fuel lines too. I gave it a good once over & it will start on first pull as well. That thing runs super.

To edit the title, you would have to re-open that post, hit advanced & you should be able to edit it. Least I have done it that way.

Great find on the Honda tiller.

I tried to edit the main post but it's not showing the edit post.
I was only able to edit my latest post.

Got time to work on it this morning.
Started it up in one pull.
I engaged the clutch and set the shift lever to minimum and voila, it started to creep very slow.
When I pulled it back, I heard a pop and the rear wheels released and I was able to pull it back.

I think I read somewhere that there is a bushing on the rear wheels that can bind causing it to lock up in reverse..
I am going to remove the rear wheels and try to clean up the shaft.

As far as the very slow speed, I think the clutch cable needs adjusting to engage the clutch fully.
Will update later.

Re: Found a used Honda Harmony 215

Anybody has an idea how fast the hydrostatic self propelled HRB 215 should move?
This mower seem a little slow even at max shifter speed. It does not seem to change speed from low to high setting.
Thank you.

Re: Found a used Honda Harmony 215

Well I tried mowing my front lawn to test the self propel.
When I engage the rear wheel transmission clutch, it moves very slow but when I tried to pull it back with clutch still engaged, the rear wheels grab and it speeds up.
I really enjoyed using it. It cuts really good.

Anybody knows what could be slipping? I still have to perform service on the rear wheels.
Thanks.

Thanks. Sorry I can't be of more help, that tiller is my 1st Honda.
