First riding mower. Need help choosing one.

Hi, I'm needing some help choosing my first riding mower. I've been looking at the Husqvarna YTH24V48 at Lowe's since I can get a pretty good deal on it. Under $1700 with the mulching kit out the door. My house is on an acre with a few dips by the street and some slight hills in the backyard. I'm also thinking about buying a Honda HRX217HYA to replace my POS Craftsman walk behind. I'm gonna give it a go with a riding mower first and see if I still need a walk behind. Anyways, do you guys have any other recommendations in that price range? Do you guys think it's necessary to have a riding mower and walk behind? TIA

I like you and millions of others have places that you can't get to on a rider so we need either a good line trimmer or a walk-behind mower. I have all three and each has to be used where they work best. I try to eliminate as much as possible the line trimmer areas. I use round-up sprayed along the fence line and around the house, trees, outbuildings, ect. don't need to use it for a few months.

The first thing to remember s when your deciding on which mower but yery important Which DEALER. Buy it from a local dealer not Lowes or H.D. as they won't give you any service on your mower.

Find out your local Poulan dealer, he probably has the same tractor for a lot less, just says
Poulan or Poulan Pro, instead of Husqvarna, and you will have dealer support as well..

I have read several post on this site recommending buying from a dealer instead of a big box store, but unfortunately I haven't been able to find any good deals through a dealer. I've called 3 different places in my area and they are wanting to sell a mower to me at near retail pricing. For some reason, they are recommending zero turns that would run me $2800+. Not sure that I need one.
