Finding the correct air filter

Hi all. This is an incredibly stupid question. I can't find a part number for the paper air filter in a Craftsman 917.388930 walk-behind with a B&S engine. These things are available everywhere but I somehow ended up with the wrong size and don't have an old one to match. Why can't I find this info online? Weird. After an hour of searching I came here.

Go to jacks small engines.com and type this model # into the search.

Look for air filter diagram.

Thanks very much. So I take it I needed the engine model, and you were able to find it. Thanks again.

mechanic mark Thanks but I had looked there. They don't list the filter nor the engine model, so I couldn't find the part number.

This is from Jack's Small Engines. It looks like your engine uses two different filters. Not to worry; you can buy one of each and still only spend around ten bucks.

Willing to bet your filter is about 4” square and if so the part number you need is 491588.
