Ferris walk behind won't stop

I'm working on Ferris walk behind 5900679 that the operator presence handles don't shut off the machine. With the blades engaged and removing hands from the operator presence handles, the machine continues to run. The safety switch to the handles is functioning as it should so why doesn't the engine stop running? Could use your suggestions. thank you, gregjo1948

No experience with this machine but

Have you checked that kill wire is hooked up to the ignition coil.:confused3:

Had no power to a relay when ignition was on. Solved that then found a faulty connection coming out of the relay so it still didn't shut down as it should have. Repaired that and now working as it should. regards, gregjo1948
