Ferris cat engine; stumbles

Engine stumbles as if not getting fuel. changing fuel filters but wonder if could be symptoms of fuel pump beginning to fail. Is a Cat diesel.

You said "changing fuel filters" Have you already done so? A dirty water separator would give the same symptoms as you described.
