Thought I'd pass this along. My mower wouldn't start in the spring. IT was blowing fuses The switch was pretty crappy so I replaced it. It was still blowing fuses. The PTO fuse blew once and the Charger circuit fuse blew every time I ran it. And of course, the battery was not being charged.

I bought a new Voltage Regulator, Probably wasted my money. I say that because when I was removing it I noticed that the Ferris Engineers specced a connector that let the insulation retract from the wire around the connector. This is the RED WIRE and not the two Yellow wires. It was shorting against the engine shroud.
So I added some insulation put the new regulator on because I had it
Now everything is fine The battery charges.
