fastrak sd 54 clutch cuting in and out

Hi all.
I have a fastrak sd 54. while mowing the clutch will start cutting in and out and then stop. after it cools down it will work till it warms up. I have checked the clutch to see if can be adjusted. there are no bolts on it that i can see to make adjustments. any idea what is going on.
 
If not air gap adjustable, that pretty much leaves required voltage for it to operate being interrupted by low battery or poor wire circuit connection.
 
Check the wire that attaches to the clutch. Check for wear or cracks. Oh, could have a look at the fuse.
