Yep, I'm a newbie. First post. I've got a couple of Craftsman Garden Tractors, one from '94 and the other from '02....the first one has 750 hours on it, still running strong, sure things break, they just need to be fixed. On both tractors, I've replaced the stock seats with something like this... Universal Tractor Seat with Adjustable Suspension, Black - 0278205 | Tractor Supply Company
Also, have one of those weird Craftsman 42" Zero Turns, Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more
got a GOOD deal on, and love the speed and comfort (in my hands) of using it !
I can't say that I take good or bad care of them, I just try to keep an eye on things.
For leaves, a Craftsman Leaf Vacuum , where the motor sits right behind the operator, makes much tighter turns than the type mounted on the trailer....also an older Trac Vac for another property.
There we go, my first post.:licking:

Welcome to LMF, good to see another central Michigan member here...BC is only about 65 miles from me...you will enjoy it here as long as you don't tick that grumpy old guy (me) off, like most old farts he gets upset easily, and unlike most he has a REALLY good memory...

Mike, Welcome Aboard !

Thanks.....just got finished with a 6 hour Leaf battle......I won the first round ! too many loads to remember, but what a great day it turned out to be. I always listen to music ,ear buds and hearing protectors, makes the day go MUCH quicker.
Anyone else out there picking up leaves with a tow behind leaf vac ?

I haven't but I would like to try. I have a tree that makes alot of leaves in the fall.

I haven't but I would like to try. I have a tree that makes alot of leaves in the fall.

I've got two types of Tow Behind Yard Vacs.....a Craftsman model, no longer in production, that I bought in 1996.....the motor sits on brackets on the back of the tractor, so that the collection tube from the deck is shorter and makes the turning radius equal both right and left, the collection trailer has tall metal sides, weighs a ton when its full.! (Simplicity also did it this way)
The Cyclone Rake Cyclone Rake Lawn Vacuum Systems intrigues me. I've been getting their mailings for years and can't see anything about them that I don't like.
My other unit is an older Trac-Vac, probably from the early 80's, similar to this Craftsman Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more ....there are many of these around, made by the same company with different colors and names.....they work fine, but are real long and don't work very well around a lot of smaller trees and bushes, you have to make a much larger diameter sweep.
I realize that you didn't ask for all this info, but , hey, it's that time of year:laughing:
