I'm Freddy and this is my first post. I live 15 mi south of Des Moines, IA and mow about 6 acres. in 2015 I bought a Grasshopper 725DT with a 72" Deck. The mower usually works great and I like the suspension seat, but the Drive Coupler keeps failing. I have 180 hr on the machine and have had the Drive Coupler break on me 4 times. I asked the Dealer why the coupler keeps failing and he says he doesn't know. Anybody know why the coupler keeps failing?

Are you mowing sod type turf grass or the other, uneven ground with exposed roots, weeds, etc.?

on this model they shim under the engine to align the coupler. when done right you should be able to slide the coupler freely between engine and hydro. back and forth, if not right it will fail.
