Old but solid Lazer Z. Replaced wiring harness(jumped all the safety switches), stator, flywheel, rectifier, pto switch, ignition switch. Cleaned ground wires. Starts and runs but blows the ignition fuse after a pull on & off of the PTO switch.
A brief history: Used to blow the ignition fuse whether on or off. After changing everything, ran for several hours then blew fuse again.
Bypassing or jumping safety switches will wreak havoc on any machine creating issue after issue, they are there for a reason, Safety. Inspect everything electrical by hand after connecting all safety switches including ground cables & straps. Look for bare wires, burn spots or marks, inspect backside of ignition switch, everything tight & secure & look ok. Unplug each connection one at a time & inspect visually, if ok plug back together. Let us know how it goes, thanks.
My son & I worked on a New Holland farm tractor a friend of his has on his farm Sat., no headlights was problem. Found mouse nest the size of a football behind instrument panel, cleaned all connections in main wire harness including fuse & relay box, got him going by 1 p.m. Time & patience, three & a half hours, he & my son also installed new lights on his rear fenders. He was a happy farmer & we were glad we could help him out.
