Exmark LaserZ PTO switch problems

My Exmark laser Z keeps melting the PTO switch, then the only way to start the mower is by jumping the starter. I changed out the PTO swicth it the same thing happened. any suggestions appreciated.

Either you have a bad connection (corroded or loose) causing excessive amp draw, or a short someplace in the wiring causing excessive amp draw causing the switch to get hot and melt.
