Check your seat safety switch for proper operation and that the wire harness plug is fully seated into the switch. Some harness plugs have a micro switch in the plug itself and if it backs out just a little bit it can cause the condition you are experiencing. Use a cable/wire tie to secure the plug to the switch if that is the problem.

It sounds like your control lever (L & R) micro switch for the safety interlock might need replacing. They're kind of hard to replace. If you look on the left and right side almost seat level, you will see the grey push button switch with a 3 or 4 wire plug that is plugged into it. I would first pull the plug out of this grey switch, clean the terminals and reseat. Wait a minute! The switch I just mentioned was the BRAKE switch (on the left side). (I don't have one here at the shop right now) Clean it anyway. Before attempting to replace the L & R control handle switches, (kind of difficult) jump the "tilt" sensor wires to the rear of the battery. This has caused problems in the past. Then just in front of the battery you will see a brown molex 3 conductor connector with ONLY ONE WIRE. Separate that connector and jump that mating connector (with more than one wire) These jumps will bypass the safety interloc system and is used only as a process of elimination to get to the source of your problem. I might mention that I have many times seen a PTO switch cause the same problems. I am referring to the Lazer Z with the Kohler EFI and with the Kawasaki water pumper 27 HP ("FD 750 D") engines
