has anyone had problems with exhaust fumes from lawn tractor and if so what is the solution

Yeah i did on an older bobcat ransomes,I just modified the muffler so the fumes would be directed the opposite way using a screw on shield from Briggs.
You can also use a piece tin and bend it as a deflector,hold it in place drilling some holes and pop rivet ect....
You can do it a number of ways,,if you post a few pics of your exhaust maybe we can give you some ideas :)

thank you I just recently started having this problem after using the mower for 2 yrs. is there anything that could have started this problem

Well yes,,the muffler could have a crack or hole in it and the fumes are coming out at a different angle and getting you in the face,,or the engine could be running very rich because the air filter is plugged or the carb is out of adjustment,,but if its not blowing slight black smoke that should not be the case.

I would check over the muffler real well first :)

I notice if the wind is blowing from a certain direction I get fumes at times..only on my walk behind,,the Raptor has the engine behind me so no fumes at all,,unless wind blows hard.
