My buddy & I operate a small mowing service in our hometown (population 800) - we have 12 lawns we care for weekly. Two of the mowers we use are 2008 42" Craftsman & both run fantastic! However, one of them wears out both front tires EVERY YEAR while the other is still running on the originals and they look new!

Can anyone provide some insight? These tires aren't getting any cheaper!!!

excessive toe-in or toe-out.

Wears down the center of both tires not the inside or outside edges.

Too much air in the tires?

The tires call for 14 psi so that's where we keep them. We have tried marking the tires and running at a lower psi without any luck. Recently, I added a couple of oversize washers to the axle to tighten up any "slop" between the wheel bushings and E-Clip retaining ring also.

check the rim size, to narrow and they cause the tire to bulge out in the middle.

Lower the air pressure. Make the whole tire lay flat on the driveway.
