engine starts then dies after running, then after a click sound will start agian

I have a 18HP Kohler command engine on a simplicity zero turn riding mower. The last two times I've mowed it starting showing theses signs and then last time was real bad. The engine will start run for awhile then suddenly die and won't even crank over, just died until I wait for 1-2 minutes and here a click sound and then engine will start. Then after 1 or 2 rows of mowing does this all over again. any ideas?
 
Does it have a fuel solenoid? If it does then fuel solenoid may be the problem or a problem with voltage on wire to the fuel solenoid.
 
Post your Simplicity model number, check all connections by hand making sure everything is tight and secure, especially ground cables & straps, let us know how it goes. Also how many hours on mower?
 
One of your valves is sticking open when the engine is warm. The engine can't start with a valve stuck open. The snap you hear is the valve cooling down and snapping back shut.
