engine runs full throttle

I have a snapper with a 11hp B&S engine that runs full throttle, My father-in -law was using it one day and it just started running full throttle. I think something failed inside the crankcase.

can you post up an engine number/serial number, what model mower and perhaps a photo of the carb and linkage from a few views....could have an external issue, or it could be the internal governor...I do believe those things have plastic gears

Hello, i have just repaired a Briggs engine where the throttle shaft had snapped in the carb which gave the same symptoms as you are giving. Gary
