Hello all, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I own a WE261 Weedeater...yeah its basically garbage...anyways..

The safety pressure switch works correctly and kills power when I get off the seat, however, when engaging the parking brake and getting off the seat, I should be able to get off and have the engine still run..which it was doing before.

Now when I engage the parking brake and get off, the engine dies.

I have given my tractor a complete tuneup: oil, cleaning out belts, fuel lines, new spark plug.

The only other issue I am having is it starts up perfectly the first time, but I can't get it re-started after. I am choking that up to a battery issue, which I am getting tested tonite. I am seeing the voltage drop down from 12v to 5v when starting it up.

What would be causing the engine the shut off when the park brake is on and I get off the seat? Spent over 10 hrs so far, and hoping someone has some advice...any advice, before I dump money into the wrong part..

Thanks,
Mike

The pto has to be disengaged to prevent it from dying maybe the pto switch isn't working correctly. There is also two relays on those mowers, and if one of those goes bad can cause problems also.

The ones that I have had in the shop , the two relays are zip tied together on the left side frame rail between the engine, and the seat.

One relay controls starting, the other is the safety system. I believe they are the same relay that can be swapped out between the two plugs.
