Hello all, I'm using a 22 inch Murray push mower model number 22511X92B with a Briggs and Statton engine model number 12H802-2384-B1.
I put a new carb on it at the beginning of this season, an it had been running really smooth. It idles pretty high, and starts after one or two pulls. Today I ran out of gas while mowing, so I refilled my gas can. Before this refill I was using premium gas with ethanol, but I read that ethanol is hell on your engine, so I decided to find the gas station in town that has ethanol free gas. I filled it up with premium, ethanol free gas, and now the idle "hunts." It runs rough, much slower than it was running just this morning, and the idle moves up and down.
I was under the impression that my mower should be running BETTER now than I have ethanol free gas in it. Is this something anyone here's experienced before? Did I just get some bad gas? I know oftentimes when the idle hunts like this it's crap in the carb or water in the gas. But since the carb's just a month or two old, I can't imagine it's gotten bad THAT quickly. Was there maybe water in the dregs of ethanol fuel that was in the bottom of my gas can when I refilled it?
