Engine dies

I have a 2012 Regent 22/44 with a 22hp Briggs Professional series twin. After mowing for 15-20 minutes the engine dies when I make sudden direction changes - fwd /rev or left / right turns. If I stop & wait the engine will usually chug back to life. Almost like the seat safety switch when I lean too far off the seat. This does not happen until I've been mowing for awhile and the engine is good and warm. Any ideas?

Post simplicity model number please.

Check & replace air filter if dirty. Hands on, inspect all wiring and connections making sure they are tight and secure. Look for hot spots at all connections. Check ground cables and straps for being tight and secure.

Warm / hot to the touch , would be indicative of looseness or corrosion at a ground .. or any connection ..The usually happens at the battery connections and terminals. These should be cleaned every so often .
But, I think the problem is at a coil .. somewhere .. that is heating up a bit too much.
The "hands on" is excellent advice .

Thanks mcclainn, I'm sending you a wiring diagram for your tractor. Look online at sears at multimeters and purchase an inexpensive one, instructions included. This tool will serve you well for years to come.

Have you located problem mcclainn ? If so what did you find & if not please post model xxxxxx, type xxxx, trim or code xx numbers & letters from engine. Thanks

Replaced the air cleaner and it runs like brand new!

Pat yourself on the back, check filter often & blow from inside out with compressed air or hand held blower, if you have a foam pre-filter wash with mild soap, just a pinch, rinse, squeeze water out and let air dry, & replace filters yearly. Air filters are one of the most neglected parts of any engine.
