Engine dies after 30 minutes

This one has me stumped. I'll crank the Murray push mower, mow for about 30 minutes, and the engine dies (and won't restart). I've cleaned the air filter, put gum solvent (SeaFoam) in the gas, but no change. When cold, the mower starts fine. I'm thinking that if I have air and I have fuel, then somehow the spark is missing? But what would cause spark to be lost after 30 minutes of use?

When the engine stops, it isn't as if it is abrupt (such as would happen if I ran over a branch it couldn't digest), but rather a gradual slowdown over a second or two until it's totally dead. If I let the mower sit for an hour, it starts right back up without issue.

Ideas?

Thanks - Boomzilla

Heat can sometimes make the electronics in the ignition module fail. need to check for spark after it dies the next time to confirm.
