Have an older "Indy 500" Series lawn tractor. Motor runs & starts but the electric clutch won't engage. Put in new switch, still won't work. Ran wires from battery to electric clutch & it will click like its trying to engage. Would appreciate any suggestions. Bought a new battery for this, hope I can get it going. Thanks!

Does it have the three nuts with springs on short threaded studs. You may be able to adjust the clutch by putting a .012 feeler gauge in the slot next to each spring and adjusting the nuts to achieve the proper clearance.

the feeler gauge will slide between the rotating disc and the clutch engagement plate.

Yes it has an adjustable clutch, but it doesn't need adjusted. The problem seems to lie somewhere else. Thank You for responding!
