I bought an Echo PAS 280 a while back. It ran great for a short while. Very strong. Then it started bogging down instead of revving up. I carried it to the shop. The mechanic rebuilt the carburetor but very shortly it started doing the same thing again. They then replaced the carburetor. Same thing happened. Ran great for a short period of time then stopped revving up and started bogging down. It has now been to the shop several times. They get it running then it starts acting up. We run several other machines out of the same gas can so gas is not the problem.

Has anybody here had this problem before"

I saw a video recently I believe it said that the idle mixture is too lean. it needs to be slightly rich to somewhat prime the revving of the engine.
The two screws marked "L" and "H" with the "L" being the one to screw out. Keep track where it is before you move it...write it down. You can go back to that setting if it doesn't help.

I believe it said they are normally screwed out about 2 rounds to start. The material is soft so if you run it in to find the bottom, be gentle.

My dealer has been handling it as warranty. They are very competent. I have not worked on it myself because of that fact. In fact the dealer told me yesterday that if it was not fixed they were going to replace the power head. Next week will tell the tale.

Today we had to carry it back in. Not even sure how many times this makes. Today the dealer pulled a new one off of the shelf and gave it to me. He said run it like it is a rental. We will send this one to Echo and let them figure out what is wrong with it. If they can straighten it out we will trad back till they do run this one.......
