2018 John Deere E130. 163hrs. Stored in shed. Failed to restart after an hour of usage. Rapid clicking only. Changed solenoid today. Same problem. Battery is 1yr old and fully charged. Replace starter?

Rapid clicking when cranking engine usually indicates low battery. People often think their battery is good without ever using a multimeter or load tester.

Most likely the battery or a corroded cable connection from sitting. A multimeter will only measure the voltage potential, not the amperage needed to do the work.

Pull the battery and get it tested at a local parts store. One year is about the life of one of these mower batteries unless you use a trickle charger like a motorcycle battery tender.

It is not likely to be the starter with such low hours of use.

Do you have mice at your place? Chewing wires.......

Agree, must load test the battery.
