I have a rear engine 30" 917.280010 at first had trouble with reverse not engaging or slipping, while mowing it seemed to start slipping now just acts like it is in neutral no problem with drive before that, was all of a sudden within 50 foot. going thru tall grass . all linkage seems in right place and working as should be . tried adjusting clutch. (drive disc ? )

From the looks of the schematic, your model is chain driven. Is the slip a smooth one? As in no jerking. Or more like a chain slipping off a sprocket kind of a jerk?
