Drive belt replacement 1515 problem

Hi
My "New to me" 1515 needs the drive belt replaced.
The OM says remove the PTO and slip the motor
drive pulley down to release belt. Oh Yeah!
it seems rusted to the shaft. I have sprayed
with PBlast and hope it helps by tomorrow.

Is there a trick for dropping the pulley down?

Thanks

I solved the problem with the drive belt./
I could have tried sledges, pullers, and other ways
to just damage the fragile pulley.

I chose the easy way out.

a drift rod against the frame tabs that hold the
belt from slipping off and a few hits with a
5 pound sledge. The tabs bent back and the
belt came off. I guess if I want to bend them back I can.
But I don't see the need.[/I]
