Rivets I consider this directly aimed at me and I firing back.

Look what I posted is not politics that you deleted. It was business related as the tariffs will affect each and every business and consumer in each of the countries they are applied to. I personally will be applying them to my business as I forward those costs on-wards to the customers that buy from my company. It is plain and simple fact as a business model that I am applying as I not absorbing the tariffs. Once these tariffs are removed then I will lower my prices back down as my costs will go back down too. If I was doing for political reasons I would be only applying the new rates to only to the side that caused the problem but I consider everyone is in the same sinking ship so I am applying it to everyone without politics being considered or applied. A 33-1/3% increase in final prices is not what anyone here wanted to see but it is now happening. That is the 25% increase tariff wise and the additional sales taxes. This higher because they 25% on sales which to make the same amount we have to raise the prices by a third. Plain economics. This the ESE executive order here.

The price files I obtain does indicate country of origin so I can apply them now and not wait to see when they are passed along. This way I don't get stab on the orders I place.

But since you think it is important to delete the thread I feel it is important for me to cut way back on support of this forum. So I will be only checking in once every two weeks for the near future. I have already been self censoring my replies to allow others to make fools of themselves.

In the words of Rodney King, “can’t we all just get along?”
Let’s don’t take things personally on this or any other forum. We are ultimately here to help each other. When you help someone in life, you make a difference. Everyone needs some help and kindness and guidance in life from time to time.

Now, if only he had simply "complied", hmmmm.....

If that's the way you feel that's on you.
Your post may not have been political, outright, but you're really the only one who posts about that stuff. but soon enough it will turn political, and back and forth arguments and someone will get butt hurt, and come complain to the forum staff why we're allowing politics when it clearly says no politics..
It's best to nip it in the bud.
If you have such a hard time following this rule....there's the door.

Scrub, I agree with you, but have seen some posts that are far worse and nothing was done, even when I point it out. As long as we keep the entire playing field even, I’ve got no complaints. Just about any subject that deals with the government is political, it’s a very fine line.

as far as I'm concerned, the American consumers have only themselves to blame for the cost of products. They willingly pay $1k for a dang cell phone, another $300-400 a month for serves and app's, etc,. $500 +/- for Taylor Swift tickets, $300 +/- for sporting events, $250 for some felons' sneakers, and these foolish costs go on and on. But, ask them to pay a bit extra in wages to an American worker and watch them go ape-crap. We get what we pay for .....

Well I have decided to just hit my customers for up to a third more on their bills; unless, the tariffs are higher then I pass that extra along too.

Which in case of the current job, it is being billed at $246.70 before sales tax that would had been $185.03 before sales tax. This because the work will not be completed for at least a couple weeks. Just depend how fast the Canadian parts arrive.

And the rest of the customers can complain all they want but it not going to get me to lower my prices; unless, my cost goes down. Tough but the way it has to be here. I didn't take them to raise them.

I’ve gotten to the point that I now give each customer a soft estimate when they come in. Most of my customers say “Do what you have to, if more call first”. 95% are repeat, and 5% referred so they know how I work. Last time I had a idiot was over a year ago. Parts are parts, we can’t control the price.

this happens when businesses seek out cheap labor, to appease stockholders and customers. Quality costs, and as Fram says, "You can pay me now, or you can pay me later." For 30 years I was a loyal GM buyer, until the day their HQ Customer Service VP told me, (and I quote) ....your oil leak from the oil pan is "Normal Seepage". When Americans allows this kind of dumbing down of product, sales & service we've only ourselves too blame. JMO.....
