doesn't want to run

I chose Honda because that is the engine on this mower. The engine is a Honda GCV 160. Hasn't been run for some time but I did leave the gas tank empty. It will start and revs up but then dies right away. Where do I start to try and figure out why it is dying right away? Thanks for any help I can get.

Clean the Carburetor

OK I started to take it apart but changed my mind when I found that two bolts held everything together, air cleaner, carb, gaskets (4) and a spacer block for something. Hard to work with that many components with only two hands. I guess I could turn it on it's side to make it a little easier. Thanks for the reply.
