I worked on a Lawnboy silver duraforce last week that had a warped carb. Why did the carb warp? The ones I see with warped carb bodies are covered in gook so there is no way the heat can dissipate. You have to clean em up once in a while with engine degreaser and a tooth brush then spray down with brake parts cleaner.
It is possible a really hot engine (?300F) was doused with water somehow. Especially if the carb is aluminum alloy and locked down tight to a cast iron head ,both with different expansion rates. But it would seem you could carefully dress it down flat (unless you hit small passageways?) I'm winging it here.
