Determining which carburetor connection goes to primer pump

All the fuel hoses had rotted off. I purchased a Poulan/Weedeater line set with the primer line fitting.
There are two lines at the carb. How do you identify which line goes to the primer pump and which line comes from the fuel filter?

The one closest to the part of the carb with medal cover goes to short tube on primer. Long tube is tank return. The one closest to the aluminum cover is the fuel line with the filter.

For the ones with the primer mounted on carb. The one closest to the primer bulb is the tank return and the one below it is the fuel line with the filter.

Thank you for your help. The Primer pump has two hose attachments. The small one is on the left as you look at the primer bulb - the tubes are behind the bulb and in front of the carb. The larger diameter tube is on the right - again as you look at the bulb. In this configuration the metal piece on which the primer bulb is mounted is flat on the top and somewhat triangular on the bottom.
The output from the upper left tube leaving the carb connects to the larger diameter tube on the primer pump. The smaller primer tube connects to the smaller plastic return hose and runs directly to the tank.

I hope my interpretation sounds correct.
