Deere GT275 yellow battery light stays illuminated on dash.

My GT275 battery light was intermittent but now it stays on steadily. Does this thing have a alternator or generator. Where do I find it and a replacement for it?

The type of charging system will vary depending on brand and type of engine. Post the model information for the engine so we can narrow down the system that you have.

Most likely you have a stator under the flywheel that connects to a regulator/rectifier, or something similar
 
Hello and thank you for being willing to help.

The engine is a Kawasaki 17hp made in 01/97. I will attach a picture of it.Deere GT275 Motor.jpg

so is "Most likely you have a stator under the flywheel that connects to a regulator/rectifier" difficult to replace or is putting the battery on the battery charger after every use in my future?
