I have a John Deere D155 Lawn Tractor with a 48” Mower Deck. Recently the deck belt broke and I replaced it as I had done a year ago.
Upon restarting it there was a high pitched whine. After a while it seemed to quiet down (but didn’t go away completely) and about 20 minutes later I accidentally hit a buried tree stump at the front bumper where upon the belt dislodged from the drive pulley under the engine.
Can anyone explain the high whine and could that be a reason for the mower belt to dislodge?
