D-600 ignition modules

What are you guys doing to replace bad D-600 ignition modules? I can't seem to find any alternative replacements. Plenty of F engine and D points/condenser stuff; but no D-600 modules???

While I'm on the subject, it seems like pistons and Jugs for Ds aren't out there anymore, either?

D-series pistons are available on eBay -- not OEM but I hear they're OK.

About the ignition module -- have you heard about putting it in an oven at about 130 degrees for X minutes? I've heard that works sometimes and if the thing is not working at all it may be worth a try. There are threads about that. Not everyone on this forum approves of that "hack" but I'd try it if I had a non-working module. Also, you could try eBay.

The module in question is one that runs but has a misfire. I thought about the oven thing. I'd seen that thread, too.....but in my mind, the thing runs on the engine at at least 130 degrees, all the time....so I never really bought into that idea, myself. To each his own, though! And oh yes, I have been looking on eBay. I did get one used one; but it was the ONLY one. (I haven't tried it to see if it works yet!) There are NO new replacements, whereas other models, there is tons of new stuff available.

I wouldn't do the oven thing if the module is working -- you could do some damage. Have you eliminated all fuel system problems? I always thought that electronic ignition parts like that are "all or nothing" -- but I suppose there could be exceptions.

Keep looking for the D piston -- one will turn up.

This module with the problem is actually on my boss' mower. (He loves them, too. He used to sell them, years ago.) I did a neon spark check and observed that the spark was flickering, even with the stop switch disconnected. I have one D-600 mower myself. I put my module on his mower, as a test. It worked perfectly. So yeah, he really does need one.
